Hydpound™ PEM revolutionize vanadium redox battery technology

Vanadium Redox Battery (VRB) is an electrochemical energy storage technology that is widely used for large-scale energy storage. The VRB involves two different oxidation states of vanadium ions in the electrolyte REDOX reaction, so as to achieve energy storage and release. It is characterized by high efficiency, long life, high security, easy maintenance and strong scalability and other advantages, the application of power grid energy storage, wind energy storage, solar energy storage and other fields.

In VRB, the diaphragm is an important component to achieve electrical balance. The diaphragm is located in the center of the battery unit, which is not only used to separate the positive and negative electrolyte inside the single battery to prevent direct reaction, but also to make the selective transfer of specific ions to ensure the conduction of the internal circuit of the battery. The stability and ion selection ability of the diaphragm directly affect the life and performance of the all-vanadium flow battery. Compared with other membranes, proton exchange membrane has higher conductivity, better chemical stability and the best comprehensive performance.

The Hydpound™ all-vanadium flow battery proton exchange membrane consists of the enhanced perfluoroproton exchange membrane RH330 and the polybenzimidazole non-fluoroproton exchange membrane RHNF335, which has excellent barrier properties, good oxidation resistance and chemical corrosion resistance
